Phosphate based technology possesses superior thermal and chemical stability which provides better safety characteristics than those of Lithium-ion technology made with other cathode materials. Lithium phosphate cells are incombustible in the event of mishandling during charge or discharge, they are more stable under overcharge or short circuit conditions and they can withstand high temperatures without decomposing. When abuse does occur, the phosphate based cathode material will not burn and is not prone to thermal runaway. Phosphate chemistry also offers a longer cycle life.

I suspect the issue is that there isn 8767 t a standard way about how to measure self-discharge, or even charge.
We believe that by integrating our Super Cathode with conventional anodes, a complete lithium-ion battery can be built that is lower cost, higher capacity, faster charging and longer life.
I got a lithium battery pack for my ski glove. On high it last for 7 hour, 9 hours for medium but on low it only last 8 hours. Why does the battery not working long on high? Does the cold weather affect the batteries from operating at its peaks power. Would it be better if I use some type of extra insulation around the battery pack so the battery would be cold.
Cycle life decreases with increased Depth of Discharge (DOD) (See Battery Life ) and many cell chemistries will not tolerate deep discharge and cells may be permanently damaged if fully discharged. Special cell constructions and chemical mixes are required to maximise the potential DOD of deep cycle batteries.
Measurement of the state of charge of the cell is more complex than for most common cell chemistries. The state of charge is normally extrapolated from a simple measurement of the cell voltage, but the flat discharge characteristic of lithium cells, so desirable for applications, renders it unsuitable as a measure of the state of charge and other more costly techniques such as coulomb counting have to be employed.

The lithium iron phosphate battery is a type of rechargeable battery based on the original lithium ion chemistry, created by the use of Iron (Fe) as a cathode material. My employer just invested in a new universal remote that has a lithium ion battery in it. It is replacing another remote that also used a lithium ion battery. The battery on the old remote didn 8767 t seem to last longer than a year. I live on an island that is very humid and surrounded by the ocean, it doesn 8767 t sound like it is worth keeping an extra battery around, should the current one start to fail. I need to make sure that remote is always operational. Any suggestions?
